So last Monday, I had my first appointment with the doctor I'm going to stick with. Dr. Nicole Basa. I made this decision because she seemed very serious about getting me healthier, not the money. Example, instead of telling me to gain weight like Dr. A did, Dr. Basa told me I had to lose some before I could have surgery. Dr. A said I can keep eating what I'm eating. Dr. Basa gave me a strict diet.
Here's the new rules I have to obey:
64 ounces of water a day (twice as much as I usually drink)
Down with carbs. No pasta, no fruit, no crackers, etc.
No sweets at all! Goodbye cake and ice cream. :(
Lots of protein, meat and eggs.
Lots of veggies. This one's gonna be a toughy.
No fast food
Ugh, this sucks. I really hope I'll at least be able to have a little cake on my birthday. Naturally, I've started to bust into these new guidelines right away, passing on the breads and pastas, eating bigger portions meat than I used to, having different snacks, and forcing myself to drink water all the time.
Oh! And I shouldn't forget to mention, Dr, Basa said to exercise for at least a half an hour a few times a week. Fortunately, I've been taking walks with my sister and my mom every day or so around the neighborhood, so I've already got a leg in on that.
